Role – Technical Editor

I’m responsible for reviewing a variety of books on a wide array of topics verifying their technical accuracy and providing feedback to the author in order to improve the books readability, help simplify complex concepts, and provide a wider prospective on the technologies being written about. I collaborate with a number team members at Packt Publishing including project managers, authors, and fellow editors to bring books to publication on a rigorous timeline.

This work continues to be a great experience to expand my overall view of technologies, as many of the books are not necessarily mainstream topics (for example, I recently served as Technical Editor for a book on combining Arduino MicroControllers, Networking, and Web Technologies). It has also allowed me to work with extremely talented individuals around the global.

I also receive books prior to their official publication date to provide formal reviews and write-up for potential customers. An example of one, “Getting Started with ownCloud“ My review can be read here, as well as on Amazon and Good Reads.
