I’m responsible for reviewing a variety of books on a wide array of topics verifying their technical accuracy and providing feedback to the author in order to improve the books readability, help simplify complex concepts, and provide a wider prospective on the technologies being written about. I collaborate with a number team members at Packt Publishing including project managers, authors, and fellow editors to bring books to publication on a rigorous timeline.
This work continues to be a great experience to expand my overall view of technologies, as many of the books are not necessarily mainstream topics (for example, I recently served as Technical Editor for a book on combining Arduino MicroControllers, Networking, and Web Technologies). It has also allowed me to work with extremely talented individuals around the global.
I don’t work at this position full time, as Packt Publishing works on books related to my background and skill-set they will contact me to discuss my availability. My first project with Packt Publishing was in July of 2013 and since that time I have continued to work on book publications for them.
